After entering this competition earlier in the summer, I was thrilled to receive an email saying that I had been shortlisted in 4 categories, and was invited to the awards ceremony in the Tower of London. I could only have dreamed of reaching such a prestigious competition, and I was so proud of how far I had come. The venue was incredible, and all the shortlisted photos were on display in a beautiful exhibition. Once the ceremony started, I was amazed to receive the following awards: Commended in Mobile phones 12-15 years, Commended in 12-15 years, Runner up in City Life, Runner up in the Portfolio, and Winner in the 12-15 category. I was already over the moon to have received these prizes, and as they began to announce the Overall Winner, I didn’t even begin to imagine that my photo would ever be it. But as they judges revealed the winner, I genuinely couldn’t believe my eyes that my photo “Daydreaming in the Chamomiles” has been chosen as the Overall Winner. To this day I still can’t believe it, but am so grateful to everyone who has supported me, and offered advice and tips to help me improve and get to where I am now.
